Lovable vs Bolt vs v0: which should you use?
Three tools that all promise an app from a prompt. They're more different than the marketing suggests.

On the surface, Lovable, Bolt and v0 do the same thing. You type what you want and get a working app back. Spend a weekend with each, though, and they start to feel like three different personalities: the one who wants to build you a whole business, the one who hands you the keys to the workshop, and the one with impeccable taste who’d rather not deal with the database.
The live numbers
Before the opinions, the data. These figures come from projects people have actually shipped and posted on Vibers, and they change as more get posted.
Treat “typical build time” with care. It’s self-reported, and the tools tend to attract different kinds of projects. A quick v0 landing page and a full Lovable app with logins are not the same job.
Lovable: the full-app builder
Best at: going from a description to a complete app that saves real data, with logins, in one sitting.
Lovable’s strength is how much it does for you. It connects to Supabase for the database and sign-in, so you get a real backend without having to understand one. It also syncs your project to GitHub, which is your escape hatch if you outgrow it.
Watch out for: loops. When Lovable gets stuck on a bug it can’t see, every attempt uses up credits. Learn to stop after the second failed fix, roll back and ask differently. And because it makes database work so easy, check the access rules before you launch. Our security checklist covers exactly this.
Pick it if: you’ve never coded, you want a working product with real users and data, and you want one tool to do most of it.
Bolt: the workshop
Best at: getting a full-stack app running in your browser, with the code right in front of you.
Bolt, from StackBlitz, runs a complete development environment inside your browser tab. You see the files, the terminal and the preview together. It’s fast to a working version and very good for people who are curious about what’s happening underneath. When you’re ready, it deploys in a click.
Watch out for: larger projects. As an app grows, keeping the AI focused gets harder, so keep your requests small and specific. Export to GitHub early.
Pick it if: you’re an in-betweener, or would like to become one. You want speed, but you also want to see and touch the code.
v0: the designer
Best at: good-looking interfaces, fast.
v0 is Vercel’s builder. It turns prompts, and even screenshots, into clean React interfaces with sensible, modern styling. Its taste is the best of the three by default. It publishes straight to Vercel and fits neatly with developers who’ll take the code further.
Watch out for: treating it as a whole-app builder. It can do more than front ends, but its heart is the interface. For heavy logic and data, many people design in v0 and then move to Cursor or Claude Code for the rest.
Pick it if: how it looks matters most, you’re building landing pages, dashboards or design-led products, or you’re handing the result to a developer.

The answer most people end up with
Use more than one. A very common path on Vibers is to sketch the look in v0, build the working app in Lovable or Bolt, then move to an editor like Cursor or an agent like Claude Code once it gets serious. The tools are cheap to try. Your time is the expensive part, so pick the one that matches your project and get going.
