We collect as little as we need to run Vibers, we don’t sell your data, and we don’t use advertising cookies. Analytics cookies are only set if you say yes.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address, and your name, username and avatar if you sign in with GitHub or Google.
- What you post: your profile, projects, screenshots, build stories, comments, upvotes, follows and challenge entries. Most of this is public, because that’s the point of the site.
- Private settings: your email preferences, saved projects, and the wallet address you give us for challenge prizes. Your saves and wallet address are only visible to you and our team.
- Support requests: what you send us, so we can help.
- Basic technical data: our hosting providers keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and to fix problems.
- Visit counts: we count page views by page, by the site that sent you (just its name, like google.com) and by country. To count unique visitors without cookies, we turn your IP address and browser into a scrambled code that changes every day, so it can’t identify you or link your visits across days. We never store the IP address itself, and the codes are deleted after 90 days.
Cookies
We use two small cookies of our own: the one that keeps you signed in, and, if you arrive through someone’s referral link, one that remembers their username for up to 30 days so they’re credited if you sign up.
Google Analytics, only with your permission. If you click Accept on the cookie notice, we load Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies (named _ga) to count visits and see which pages are useful. We don’t use it for advertising and don’t send it your name or email. If you click No thanks, it never loads. You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Your light or dark theme choice is stored in your browser. There are no advertising cookies, and our own visit counts work without any cookies at all.
Who helps us run Vibers
We use a small number of services to run the site. They only process data to provide their service to us:
- Supabase: our database, sign-in and file storage (servers in the United States).
- Netlify: hosts the website.
- Resend: sends our emails.
- GitHub and Google: only if you choose to sign in with them.
- Google Analytics: visit statistics, only if you accept analytics cookies.
- Microlink: takes screenshots of the links you submit.
- Sentry: receives error reports when something breaks, so we can fix it. Reports include the page and browser, but not your name, email or IP address.
Challenge prizes are paid on the Base blockchain. Payments on a blockchain are public and permanent, so a payout transaction and the receiving wallet address can be seen by anyone.
Emails
We email you about activity on your account, such as comments, followers and challenge results. You can change which emails you get in Settings at any time.
Your rights
You can see and edit your information in Settings, and delete your account there too. Deleting your account removes your profile, projects, comments and votes. Depending on where you live (for example under the UK or EU GDPR, or California law), you may also have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to object to how we use it. Email support@vibers.si and we’ll respond within 30 days.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep a record by law. Server logs are kept for a short time for security.
Children
Vibers is for people aged 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll tell you on the site or by email.
