Useless Button
Repo verifiedA button that does nothing, extremely loudly.
How it was built
I built this because… the brief said "one button, something absurd happens" and I wanted to make a button that has feelings about being pressed. It's basically an office worker on the edge of a breakdown.
What I asked the AI first I pasted the whole brief into Claude, word for word, and asked it to build it. No design, no plan. Just "make this."
Where it nailed it Claude came up with the story on its own. The button says "Ow", apologises, shrinks, makes it rain socks, orders an imaginary pizza that gets lost in Narnia, gets stuck at 99%, crashes to a blue screen, files a complaint with HR (a plant), goes to the gym, falls over, then takes a coffee break. If you press it during the break, it says "I'm on break!"
Where I had to step in The first version ended at press 30 with a certificate, so anyone who loved it had nothing left to explore. I asked for a hybrid: keep the scripted story, then go infinite. Now every 10 presses a new chapter changes the rules (clones, pizza wallpaper, upside-down page, a shy button that dodges your cursor). Sentences are assembled from random parts so they basically never repeat, and the certificate comes back every 50 presses with a more ridiculous title.
What I'd do differently Test on a phone from the start instead of at the end, add sound (a button that screams "Ow" out loud), and build a global leaderboard of who pressed it the most.

Tap an animal, it goes BOING and shouts something silly. Nine animals, one giggling sun, zero rules.
