The Useless Button

Build a website with one button. When someone presses it, something absurd happens. That's it.

No practical purpose allowed. The more pointless, surprising or ridiculous, the better. It can do something different every time, get grumpy if you press it too much, or start a chain reaction nobody asked for.

Ideas to get you going

• A button that apologises more dramatically every time you press it
• A button that runs away from your cursor
• A button that orders an imaginary pizza and narrates its journey
• A button that makes the whole page slowly fall apart

You have 24 hours. The brief goes live now and entries close in 24 hours. Then the community votes for 24 hours.

Build it with any AI tool you like: Claude, Cursor, Lovable, Bolt, v0, Replit or anything else.

• Build it during the 24-hour window. Projects started before the challenge opens can't be entered.
• One button. Other things can appear after it's pressed, but the page starts with just the button.
• It must run in a web browser, on desktop and phone, with no sign-up or wallet needed.
• Keep it fun and harmless: nothing that slows people's computers, steals data, or opens pop-up spam.
• One entry per person.
• The community votes to make the shortlist, then the Vibers judges pick the winner from the top entries.
• The winner must verify they own the project (site or GitHub repo) before the prize is paid.
